Welcome Back!

Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a fantastic spring break.

We are currently finishing up our poetry unit in writing. Here is a picture of our "poet tree":

We are also in the midst of our fraction units in math. Right now we are working on placing fractions on number lines and finding equivalent fractions. The students made fraction pizzas:

In social studies, we are finishing up our unit on the Civil War. There will be a chapter 7 test on Friday. As usual, students will be able to use their textbooks during the test.

In language arts, we are continuing to read aloud from the book "The City of Ember". The kids are really enjoying it. Our reading strategy of the week is "reread". We do this to work on fluency and accuracy while reading. In our vocabulary study, we have finished another set of 15 vocabulary words. This week the kids are studying the words for the test on Friday. The students will be bringing flashcards home tonight to study.

We had a fantastic all school assembly on Monday. The Milwaukee Flyers came to do a tumbling performance for us. It was amazing!
