Language Arts- We are finishing our listening to reading books as well as our read aloud The People of Sparks. This is the second book in the City of Ember series. There are four books in total, so the kids may want to read the other two this summer!
We are finished with our words of the week vocabulary study, but there will be a final test coming up on all of the words they have learned so far this year.
The students are currently learning about cause and effect relationships in reading. They are also finishing up their persuasive letters in writing.
Math- In math, we are working on geometry. So far the students have learned how to draw and measure angles with a protractor, how to classify triangles, and how to name and label points, rays, lines, and line segments. We will continue geometry through the end of the school year.
Science- We are beginning our matter unit this week.
As you may know, we are doing the ABC countdown to the end of the year. Today was "Drop Everything and Read" day. Your child should have brought home a list of what each day will involve. Here are some pictures from our reading day:
